Jerry Chavarria

Coach Jerry serves as the hitting/catching instructor for 5 Star Mid-Atlantic MD group and Landon School. Jerry is a native Washingtonian with a deep-rooted passion for baseball.  He began his journey at St. John’s College High School, where a commitment to excellence on the field was instilled early on. He further developed his skills at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, competing in NCAA Division II baseball while earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After three competitive seasons in independent baseball, he transitioned into coaching—bringing firsthand playing experience to player development. Jerry began his coaching career in 2023 with the Los Angeles Dodgers’ player development program, where he refined his approach to nurturing talent and optimizing performance. In the subsequent years, he joined the Baltimore Orioles organization, where he continues to focus on developing players and advancing his coaching techniques. His coaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive environment, emphasizing continuous improvement, and leveraging experience to help athletes reach their full potential both on and off the field.
