Charles Torres, Jr.

Coach Charles serves as an assistant coach for the 5 Star Mid-Atlantic MD group. Born in San Francisco, California with deep roots in Nicaragua, Charles grew up playing baseball in both the Bay Area and Nicaragua where he gained valuable perspective and wisdom on Sports and in life. Charles's intentions are to build confidence, resilience and grit in others while creating positive experiences in safe spaces for people to develop these skills. His life purpose is to empower others by motivating and inspiring them while sharing his wisdom and leading from the front through collaboration, patience, intentionality and enthusiasm. He has seen the game from many cultural perspectives as a player, coach and a fan.

 

In 2020 Charles created the Pinolero Baseball Project which has impacted over 10,000 people in Latin America, Asia and the United States. By providing resources, the Pinolero Baseball Project has impacted over 60 communities and has started up multiple free Academies by introducing structured programs and providing resources. Charles visited every community he has helped and has not only shared what he has learned but most importantly gained wisdom from each community and it is his mission to continue to spread the wisdom and learn where he is present.
